On December 5, 2005, Robert Wurth joined the blogging ranks with Freshly Squeezed Droplets (edited: looks like it’s now closed). Robert’s calm wisdom has long been known on the about.com graphic design forum, so it became an additional treat to be able to get his views via bloglines.

Although extremely busy with running his own design company, Freshly Squeezed Design, Robert graces us with well thought out posts. I’ve picked out a few of my favourites to share below (now offline):

If you are reading through those titles for the first time, you might get the impression that Robert is just as passionate about the industry of design as I am. And you’d be right. The difference is that Robert keeps his cool, where I don’t (at times). After the first shot of indignation, Robert channels his anger by sitting down and planning out his thoughts. When he’s penning his clear words, I’m spitting fire and ready to go to war.

Thank you Robert. And a very Happy Birthday to you both. You’ve done a bang up job this past year and I’m proud to know you!

Into my 20′s, friends and family knew to wait until unwrapping time before presenting me with presents. When Fredrik contacted me yesterday, I had the same reaction, I couldn’t wait to share his opening artwork. To those of us sporting scars of honour, it brings back proud memories. My memories took three stitches.

Now it’s a year later and LogoWorks is still trying to polish their tarnished image within the design community. They’ve recently posted a series of supposed myths about their operations, followed by their version of th facts. Unfortunately, they’ve distorted or invented some of the chief complaints against them so that they can create the answers they want. This practice is called a straw man argument.
