Last year, Home Rejuvenation held a 10 Most Influential Bloggers push.
The winners were…
First place: Design*Sponge
Second place: Apartment Therapy
Third place: MoCo Loco
Fourth place: Decor8
Fifth place: Desire To Inspire
Sixth place: Oh Joy!
Seventh place: Swiss Miss
Eighth place: NotCot
Ninth place: Sfgirlbybay
Tenth place: Bloesem
As you can see from the winners, it’s more of an interior, product design focus rather than communication design. No matter, it’s always fun to watch how these things pan out.
The cast for this year (below) has a great bunch included. There’s some noticeable no shows dotted around, so, maybe give Home Rejuvenation suggestions for 2009? Like, who to add and who to cut?
And maybe they could even separate the focus a bit? Product design, Interior design, Communication design… or something similar…
(not that I’d place even then, but, hey…)

Who to add: David Airey and Logo Design Love, both by David. They are two of my favourite blogs this past year, bar none.
And if there’s ever a blog voting what’s it for designers with language blogs, I’d put mine forward: Women Learn Thai
(perhaps a better name would be See the Expat Women Struggle to Learn the Thai Language from the Comfort of Her Own Sofa…)
Note: As mentioned, I’ve been absent from DWB with crazy health problems. With a lot of work to get it sussed, and more than a lot of bitching, I’m coming out of it. Slowly. So please look out for regular features on fabulous bloggers.
Ok, I’ll continue to kick up a fuss… but I’ll be back for sure.
Enjoy…

So where do we vote / add other design blogs?
Jacob Casss last blog post..Designer In The Spotlight: Albert Lo
If you click on their graphic on my post, or the first text link under the graphic that says ’10 Most Influential Bloggers’, it’ll take you to their competition page. There you’ll find a text link (third paragraph where it says ‘click here to vote’). Click on that and a pop up form will appear.
Reading down through the comments on their post, you’ll find others putting forward opinions. There’s a fair number of negative comments. A waste of time really, but seems to be the way the internet is going (with manners out the window).
So take your pick. Either vote for you fav in the list and put a new one in the comments, or vote for one not listed. Up to you really, as they are paying attention.

That’s quite the recommendation, Cat! Thanks very much.
Really sorry to read of your continuing illness. Here’s hoping things are on the up, and that it’s not getting you down too much.
I think I read on Home Rejuvination that much of the focus was on interior design, so I’m with you, would be nice to see some additional bracketing, though I can empathise with the work involved.
David Aireys last blog post..Focus on reader comments #3
Hey Dave, just telling the truth :-)
Yeah, this being sick a long time is tedious. I do have up days (my nature) so it’s not impossible. Just tiring.
And it’s a good thing I have a friend with a driver. We take off twice a week to get chauffeured around the good stuff. This has got to be the laziest way to see BKK (she’s leaving soon so is trying to get in as much of Bangkok as possible). Tomorrow is we’re doing a second Mon village on an island, to see the pottery. I’m almost feeling guilty…
I too can empathise with the work it would take to separate each out. Or, they can just take out the communication designers next year… decisions…
cat…. sure hope you’re on the mend soon. thanks for continuing to post occasionally while under the weather… you’re amazing to do that!

Thanks Kim. It’s slowly coming around (but I’m impatient by nature so it’s driving me ccrazy ;-)

i still do enjoy reading designsponge. looking forward to voting. hopefully my site (metrosnapshot) will be a part of this next year!
Design blog awards are fun to discover new blogs, and not-fun to discover you’re not on the list. Ha ha. Alas.
Stickers & Donutss last blog post..You may have seen approx 3,000 pictures of the man I am interviewing.
Here’s another excellent blog to add to the list. It’s quickly become my favorite:

Woww, what a great collection of blog,
Thanks a lot from Logo Designer
Maybe I can make the list as an illustrator in the next couple of years. I just started my own blog.
Video games and illustration.
What, no Boicozine or, dare I say it, Binky the Doormat?
Daniels last blog post..SeptemberIndustry – a relatively new "Online Graphic Design Journal". Minimal. Nice.
