Since NO!SPEC launched on the 14th of March, it’s been a whirlwind of of activity. Emails flying around, questions being asked, congratulations flooding in about the campaign, people letting us know they are on board, requests for interviews, photographers asking that our mission includes their industry (we’ve agreed as this is a worry for all of us), photographers sending in resources for the site, requests for the logo to design posters, fantastic articles, offers to translate the site, new and great ideas, queries if something is spec or not, urls about the different forums who have taken up the conversation, design orgs coming back with case studies, the NO!SPEC team sorting out bits of this and that, emails shooting around when we came across a spec contest with rather famous judges involved (perhaps more on that later) … yes, it’s been a RUSH here and a DASH there … which means this blog is running behind.
But … with all this happening, I’d like to slow down and take this opportunity to thank the very dear person who designed the NO!SPEC logo (which lead the design for the NO!SPEC site), Piers Le Seuer. Piers is a New Zealand designer and father of a lovely little boy, who has been in the industry for a long while. He is dedicated, energetic, and an avid anti spec crusader. The exclamation mark used in the logo is apt as it’s a favourite of his. Thank-you Piers, the logo is brilliant!
This blog is about:
Observations, tips, tricks, ideas, rants and showing the occasional piece of work. Just an idea of the sort of things I’ve been up to.
