Slow. Yes. A good way to introduce a possibility. My time here in the UK is coming to a close. And, well, as I’m trying to cram everything in at the end, my posts are slowing down (which makes no sense out of my new addiction to twitter).
And twitter is where The Rather Difficult Font Game is making the rounds. Yeah, like I need something else to distract me from … whatever it is I’m doing this week.
Anyway, as DWB is about blogging designers and not the latest craze (no matter how fun this one is), I give you Kari Pätilä from the blog Say It Ain’t Slow. Kari is (as I’m sure you’ve already guessed), the programmer of The Rather Difficult Font Game.
You can read all about Kari here and the game and the future releases at MAKING THE FONT GAME.
And yes, I did take the challenge. And when my score gets as prefect as it’s going to get, I’ll come up and tell you how wonderful I did. Ok?

well, I’m not as awesome as the 200 people on the hall of fame page, but I did get 31 out of 34, so woohoo! (ok, not the first time! this game is a little addictive).

Congrats! 31 is pretty darn good. The game is indeed very addictive but I won’t really have much time to play until I’m back home.
On a side note … I hope you are feeling better? I had allergies when I first arrived in the UK several weeks back. My flat is closed off when I’m not around and I’m allergic to dust … so … there you go, sneeze city for me. I’m just now to the point where most of the dust has settled down (or been hoovered up) and it’s time to go back home.

Hello Cat,
Hope you enjoyed the UK I live in the North West and you are welcome to pop in for a cup of tea :D and a slice of cake. I will try the font game tonight.
Take care
Mali

Hi Mali,
Thanks! For some reason, every time I’m in the UK the weather is fantastic. I’ve been coming here for almost 20 years, bought a flat in 2000 or so and it ALWAYS gives me beautiful weather. Well, except for the one time there was a heat wave and I packed for everything but. So yes, I’m enjoying my stay :-)
I’d love to drop by for a cup of tea so maybe next time? (I’m here several times a year). Today I lunch with relatives (he just arrived from Malaysia), dinner tonight the same. Tomorrow I take off from Exeter to visit a friend in Oxford. The day after, over to London and home.
Although I’ve enjoyed it as usual, I’m ready to go home, for sure.

Thanks for the well wishes Cat; I am indeed feeling better, finally! I felt like my whole head had been corked up! And I was right there with you in sneeze city (not a fun place to visit!) All is well now though :)

Glad to hear you are better Shannon. Having allergies is miserable. I’ve suffered for years on and off and I can’t wait for them to come out with something that doesn’t make me feel weird.
I’m certainly going to have to do something about it next time I come because it eats into my time here.
Also, I’m not one to suffer in silence so it’d be best all around :-)
