Your “grinder” article is outstanding! It should be required reading for all studio owners and account reps. I started my own design firm 3 years ago, but it took almost this long for me to learn how to turn away (or fire) the disrespectful, manipulative, dishonest and abusive business people who drain all the profitability and joy from our creative work. There are so many wonderful clients out there - no amount of money can justify working with people who treat us like dirt.

I agree, the ‘Clients or Grinders’ is one of the best I’ve come across in my years as a designer / business owner. It’s actually at Creative Cow, where Franklin spends some time. As I search through the site I’ll share more jewels from CC.

Cat, good pick to feature on DWB! I’ve been listening to his podcasts for a while, and I really love how inspirational they can be for getting out and making changes to your business!
