I enjoyed reading Eric’s “Primer on Social Media” way back in the May 2008 issue of Advertising Age. From the looks of it, due to the internet its getting harder to discern the good from the bad. Will have to see what his new book says about solutions to this problem.

Thank you for this lovely post, and the wonderful compliments. I am truly honored to be among the amazing designers you’ve featured on Designers who Blog. I’ve been a fan of this site for a long time, and it feels really good to truly be a part of it! Thanks so much!
Anti-spec movements are insanely helpful to designers. Too bad, only designers are aware of it. I’ve tried tweeting some of Spec Watch’s posts to my non-designer friends and most of them don’t get it or don’t really care. Or maybe it’s because I’m in such a backwater country? :|
Hi Dwight! Absolutely, make one for the Philippines. I worked with a Filipino designer in Brunei. He was absolutely wonderful, and even better, talented :-)
And thanks for stopping by. I recently did a phrase book design post. Feel free to stop by and comment.
Thanks for sharing. Wolda seems like a great opportunity for designers to showcase their portfolio.
Thanks for the info, better have a root around in the old hard drive and see what i can enter, thanks. Matt.
There is another one just announced… cause/affect with AIGA. I might post about it tomorrow…

That last link is certainly ugly. Far too many sentences contain both “crowdsourcing” and “awesome”.
Gawd, I know. And they are totally clueless what crowdsourcing is really about. Totally.

I saw some ugly searching Twitter for crowdsourcing too, but I also found this gem that gave me a chuckle:
eshep: thinking of crowdsourcing my yard work.
Twitter is great. Have you been watching SpecWatch?
http://twitter.com/specwatch
It is absolutely incredible what crowdsourcing/spec contests sites have been able to get away with for so long.

Yep, I bet compliments are much better to find when checking mail than all the spam I get ….
Manda, it was my pleasure, totally. I was thrilled to get your email as you have such a great site.

Anyway, I have a recent post loosely related to Spec…if you guys have a time, kindly check it out :) http://www.badbullfrog.com/2009/07/02/all-designers-should-read-this-post/
LOL! I’m a Philippine Graphic Designer…but is that even relevant? Someone should make something like this for our country. :P

I believe that they just don’t care. Unless someone they know are being financially harmed, they won’t even know about it.
Thanks for the post Dwight. I’ve tweeted it on nospec
