What do you do when your blog turns one?

Do you …

1) celebrate favourite posts
2) talk about interesting people you’ve met
3) fess up to blogging mistakes you’ve made
4) itemize what you’ve learned
5) or get sideswiped by a coup …

I was gifted with what came behind door number five.

Instead of finishing a rough draft on Errol Saldanha’s redesign of brandingbranding.com (brandingbranding.com was one of the first features on DWB), I spent my time trying to find out what was going on with all the tanks in Bangkok.

The coup leaders cut off access to TV and phones, so I was limited to the internet. By the time I remembered the birthday post for ‘Designers who Blog’, my rough draft had already posted itself and … I was out of birthday steam.

Until today.

There’s a party going on and we’re invited

Joe from ‘Working at Home on the Internet’ has started a Birthday Blog Carnival.

Liz from ‘Successful Blog’ is throwing an OPEN COMMENTS DAY PARTY to celebrate Blog Birthdays.

To kick off the party, Liz wants us to bring a link to our most successful post. As DWB is not a successful post type of blog, I’ll cheat by concentrating on themes.

The NO!SPEC Campaign was, by far, the best overall. I used my given talent for jumping up and down, others joined in on the jumping up and down, momentum was felt by all … and continues to be.

Now that I’m back in the birthday mode, in the next week I’ll …

1) share a brief history of DWB subjects and happenings
2) touch on a few of the talented bloggers I’ve ‘met’
3) list my blogging mistakes as well as what I’ve learned
4) and feature Errol’s brandingbranding.com

In the meantime, I hope to see you over at Liz’s, all day and into the Mic night.
